Jodhpur Jacket

Finally I'm back from Bali and India and ready to post a picture of the jacket. Anyway, this is how it turned out. Pretty great... right? I was really scared it would turn out freakishly ugly but it's great quality and is tailored really well. The only downside to this jacket is that it fits perfectly which means it won't fit for very long and I'll have to get rid of it (or hand it down to my unfashionable brother who will never wear it). Also next week I'll be blogging from the Eli Tahari show at N.Y fashion week.

This Is Where I'm Staying

Jodhpur Jacket

Yeh! I finally designed my first item of clothing. Here in Jodhpur there are tailors that will make you anything under this blistering hot sun. I based the design on a jacket from Stella McCartney Fall/Winter collection. I hope it turns out to look somewhat like the jacket. Will post a picture of it on Monday when I pick it up. I'm scared, but excited.

Bali, Bali and More Bali!

I really wanted these boots but of course they were too expensive and didn't have my size (once again).

It's kinda gross but these things are all over Bali. Its a tub of fish and the fish eat all the dead skin off of you feet and make them extremely smooth. And it feels really good!

All over Bali you'll see stuff like this Prada Market, Fendi Salon, Gucci Motor, Dior Motel! I even saw Versace Roof Supplies. Its ridiculous, but I'm sure Muccia would be flattered.

I'm surrounded by flora.

Its a shoe, its a bag. I don't really know what it is, but the only thing I'm sure of is that it's a fashion disaster! So bad it's good? Nahhh.

Bali's been so much fun, but I'm leaving for India on Thursday. Leaving this tropical wonderland is going to be hard, but who doesn't love riding through the scorching hot desert on a camel that smells like garbage. Just kidding, I'm really excited for the fashion and shops in my next adventure!

P.S. Bali has a water park that definitely rivals Splish Splash!
P.S.S. I got attacked by a monkey in Ubud and it pooped on me. Dang monkeys!

Off to Bali

This will be my last post from the U.S.A. for a while because I'm going to Bali and India for a month, and yes I will be posting from there too. First stop, find myself one of those sparkly fans. I'm also going to be looking at textiles and jewelry, street style and all things glittery that Bali has to offer. I have no idea what to expect but, i'm extremely excited. We'll also spend time in Hong Kong (okay, just a layover, but) and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, New Delhi and Jodhpur. Please follow me on this miraculous journey.

Glee Concert Live

After my fifth grade graduation, with theme songs by Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato ringing in my ears (blahhh), my super awesome friend offered me tickets to go hear some good music. GLEE! As you may or may not know I am the worlds biggest Gleek (not the creepy stalker kind, but I am a huge fan). I know it's not fashion, but there were about seven costume changes and it was my first concert... EVER! I could watch it twenty times and not get bored.

P.S. If you don't already watch Glee, you MUST!

What You Should and Shouldn't Wear to a Music Festival

What to wear.
These outfits are just perfect for a music festival (I worked really hard to put them together). Anyway, in spirit of the upcoming MTK (Music to Know) festival in East Hampton this August, I'm giving some thought to what one would wear to a music festival, having never been to one. I think it should look something like the above and not the below!

What not to wear ever in your lifetime!!! What I hope not to see at a music festival is this (just sayin)...

MTK Festival / Celebirty Festival Fashion

I'm so excited for summer, and one of the events thats happening is the MTK (Music to Know) festival. I'm extremely happy to be blogging for them, so here goes. For my first MTK post I'm thinking about what celebrities wear to big music festivals. The most inspiring to me are Kate Moss, Emma Watson and Alexa Chung. I love how these stars can be totally glamorous in haute couture one minute, and then be at these festivals looking equally chic but in a totally different casual way. I hope this will inspire anyone whose going to MTK. I'm also excited to hear what fashion brands will be there and I know that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (two of my favorite style icons) are doing a fashion show in one of the V.I.P areas. There's also rumor of Rag and Bone and Helmut Lang, but stay tuned........

Toms

I <3 my new Toms shoes. They're really stylish, extremely comfortable and the proceeds go to a good cause! With every pair of Toms shoes you buy, a child in need gets a pair. Yes it probably make the shoes twice as expensive but, it's worth it. If anyone's wondering, these are the Cordone Toms and are available along with many others on Toms.com!

Bill Cunningham N.Y

bill cunningham new york xlg

I saw this documentary about a week ago and loved it. It's probably one of my favorite fashion documentaries, up there with the September Issue and Unzipped. Sadly it's not in the theater anymore but it'll probably be on dvd soon. It was very inspirational, so if theres some street fashion photographs on my blog don't be surprised. I don't think I can ever look at Bill Cunningham's "street style" page in the New York Times the same way again.

Backpack, Backpack

Yes I feel a bit like Dora the Explorer posting about my backpack but, it is the most stylish backpack I've been able to find for a while. I bought it at American Eagle Outfitters and F.Y.I if the cloths don't have AEO plastered across the front of them there can actually be some pretty great stuff (like this backpack).

Royal Wedding

The royal wedding was on Friday and I think Kate Middleton and Prince William looked amazing. I was so happy that Kate and her sister Pippa Middleton wore Alexander McQueen, but sadly Prince Williams cousin didn't look as good as the bride and her sister. I hate to say it but they did kinda remind me of the stepsisters in Cinderella. Just sayin.

Why the Fuss?

Kinda late, but what the heck? What is with all the fuss about this kid wanting to paint his toenails pink? I think it's bold of J.Crew to put this ad out. I mean so what if the boy wants to paint his toes pink? I think thats fantastic. Although I'm more of a purple person myself.

Yazubukey

Karl Lagerfeld brooch
Lady Gaga brooch

Jakie 'O brooch

I found out about the company Yazubukey from my favorite fashion blog Bryanboy.com. Yazubukey is a company that makes all kinds of brooches and accessories (right now I really want the Karl Lagerfeld brooch). I would love to see a Ke$ha or Anna Wintour brooch.

Moroccan Sandle's

Recently my Grandma went to Morocco for her birthday and brought me back these awesome shoes! She also visited Eves Saint Laurent museum (which I had no idea even existed!).

YSL museum, Marrakech. No photography allowed, shhhhhhh........

Yet Another F.I.T. Show

I saw yet another F.I.T show with some friends yesterday. It was the Vivienne Westwood show. It was kind of small but reading about her was pretty interesting. She has a very inspiring story. She went from a small shop owner to one of London's top fashion designer's. For me, these boots were the highlight of the show.

Lady Gaga Born This Way Video

Lady Gaga Born This Way Cover

I am a huge Lady Gaga fan. I love her insane avant garde style. Today her brand new music video was released where she appears to literally give birth to the song. It's extremely controversial and inappropriate (for my 10 year old eyes) but I loved it!

F.I.T Japanese Show

Hangry and Angry (Japanese band)

Yeah it's been there a while, but it's only there for one more month. For those of you who live in NY who haven't seen the Japanese show at F.I.T you must go. I'm a huge fan of Japanese culture and clothing. So if you're in the city and have nothing to do, go visit Hangry and Angry and see all the rest of the japanese clothing. Includes designers like Comme Des Garcon, Issey Miyaki and Yohji Yamamoto.

Red Riding Hood/Marchesa Fall 2011

Image from the upcoming film Red Riding Hood.

Marchesa fall/winter 2011.

Most of you have probably seen the commercial for the upcoming movie Red Riding Hood (which I can't wait to see!). Well, when I saw this red Marchesa coat it's all I could think about. I also happen to be reading the book which I definitely recommend. It's very dark and suspenseful. For those of you who have seen the trailer, O.M.G I love that crazy mile long cape she drags behind her while climbing that giant mountain. That's an image I definitely can't get out of my head. For those of you who haven't seen the commercial...

Top 12 NY Fashion Week Looks

Jason Wu Feather Dress
I love this, what seems to be new signature Jason Wu feather dress. Well, basically I love anything with feathers. And I love the goth lace over the head. I saw a lot of goth influence on the runway this season.

Marchesa Feather Gown
This is a amazing gown someone needs to wear it to the Oscars. In my opinion Marchesa is the best company to pick an Oscar dress from.

Marchesa Feather Dress and Leggings
I love this outfit (obviously because of the feathers). The leggings are a stunning contrast with the feathers.

Halston Hoodarf Dress
I love this dress because of the hood, although personally I think that the "hoodarf" is an awful name. I'm sure they could have come up with a better name like a "scood".
P.S I would love to have a hoodarf so if anyone sees one for a cheap price please tell me where to find it.

Altuzarra Jacket and Dress
I think the flowy feminine dress looks great with the combat inspired boots and the wool jacket. Totally unexpected.

Peter Som Fur Jacket Sweater and Dress
I love the grey skirt and sweater with the fur jacket. Very chic.

Marchesa Black Lace Blouse and Black Leather Leggings
I love this outfit. It's not exactly wearable, but it's fashionable.

Christian Sariano Skirt and Jacket
This unlike the Marchesa is totally wearable. I mean, who wouldn't want to wear this!

Jason Wu Sweater and Pants
Easy-peezy-lemon squeezy. Just sayin.

Halston Fur Vest and Trousers
Need I say more?
Helmut Lang Casual Outfit
I love Helmut Lang because of all the vertical lines and all of the amazing materials used to make the clothes. All the clothes just have this incredible effortlessness and attention to detail.

I loved NY fashion week this year even though I had to experience it from the comfort of my own home. It was still fun to look at all the chic clothes that came down the runway. Fortunately I may go see some fashion shows in September.

P.S sorry about the lines and strange colors of the words but i couldn't get anything to work.
