("Fabulous Frocks")

As you can see I've gotten 3 fabulous new fashion books filled with page after page of fashion history, style icons and of course very chic clothing and accessories. The first book shown is called "The Golden Age of Couture". It is about the couture clothing and accessories in Paris and London. I was stunned by the phenomenal clothes in this book from designers like Cristobal Balenciaga and Pierre Balmain. The second book called "Fabulous Frocks" (my favorite) is mostly about dresses throughout history, fashion icons and modern day runway shows. Last but not least, "Christan Lacroix on Fashion". This book is mostly pictures of beautiful clothes that have a timeline from around 1780-2007. The pictures and sets are fantastic. All of these books are amazing and I think anyone interested in fashion should own at least one of them. I would like to thank my very generous new friends who gave these books to me.

p.s The most time I've ever put into a post!

Takashi Murakami Poster

I was in Soho this tuesday and stumbled upon what I think is one of the best things to be sold on the streets of NYC. Takashi Murakami for Louis Vuitton posters! There where around 15 different prints to choose from. It was a hard decision but eventually I chose this one. Pandas are my favorite animals and I loved the vibrant colors (which look even more colorful in person). Takashi Murakami has collaborated with many other people and companies such as Kanye West and Mercedes and is well known for his anime style art.

P.S. More to come

Beautiful Betsey and Nikki Eve

Betsey and me at Nikki Eve
(story at bottom of post)

Chanel bag
Rag and Bone

I'm sorry I haven't blogged for such a long time. This summer has been incredibly busy. I was thinking about my blog and wondering what to do next while walking around Sag Harbor. If only someone interesting would just appear. I stepped into Nikki Eve and was photographing the Chanel bag and Rag and Bone shoes when who should I see, but the one and only Betsey Johnson. After a quick introduction, Betsey and I took some pictures and she kindly invited me to her September Fall/Winter show! What a great way to get back into my blog. More to come soon.

Collette Items of the Week

Prada bag and shoes
This necklace is a piece designed by Masha Archer who travels the world collecting beads. It's incredibly beautiful and very heavy! She used glass, coral, lotus pods, and even rare limited edition coins in this necklace.

It may be late July, but these pieces make me really excited for Fall fashion.

Louis Vuitton 5 Ways

My very very generous Uncle Charlie, who's in the wine business and spends a lot of time in Paris, gave me a Louis Vuitton scarf for my birthday this year. Its surprising how many ways you can wear a Louis Vuitton scarf.

Camp Skype with Johnny Weir

Johnny Weir in the 2010 Winter Olympics wearing his favorite costume.

At my camp in Wisconsin, we had a live Skype with Johnny Weir. He gave us the scoop on his latest costume for Japan (which I can't reveal, but lets just say it involves lace). He told us his favorite Lady Gaga songs are "Speechless" and "Poker Face" and that he would like a Hello Kitty toaster. He also wished me a happy birthday because we share the same birthday, July 2nd. We ended the Skype by singing "Bad Romance" to him. What a fabulous person.

This weeks Collette item of the week is an eel skin Chanel bag. I think this a very chic bag. It would be perfect for the red carpet. It would also be great for the Valentino Resort 2011 clollection.

Collette Item of the Week

Hermes bag....
and belt.

This entry has two Collette items of the week because I missed last. And as you can see they're both Hermes. I love Hermes, it's so classic sophisticated and chic. I was completely unaware that Maison Margiela was head designer for Hermes. The company's are both so different and they're both so amazing.

My friend just introduced me to this great store in East Hampton called Gail Rothwell. It's like a tiny Barney's with designers like Lanvin, Marni, Jason Wu, Blumarine, Rick Owens and the list goes on.

Dries Van Noten. I love this cluthch it caught my eye as soon as I walked in the store.

I also loved this Dries Van Noten coat. It's very vintage looking and very chic. In case you haven't noticed, I love Dries van Noten.

I love this Yigal Azrouel garment. It's a perfect party dress.

Balenciaga out here on Long Island? Wow! This piece is a Balenciaga.Edition (see more on this below).
Balenciaga Edition

The design studio selected 13 designs and two jewels from the house archives of Cristobal Balenciaga's haute couture collections dating between 1952 and 1968. Their development is focused on meticulous research of the original fabrics and constructions replicating them with current manufacturing techniques.

Cool, right?

Rube Necklace

My very generous friends at Rube, a fabulous and unique store in Amagansett, gave me this beautiful necklace in appreciation of my blog. Thanks Jim and Christine.

Stripes

These are my friends striped shirts (the same one with the designer shoes). She loves stripes and the history of Coco Chanel and the way she was inspired by zee French sailors uniforms. I've picked up some stripes on a recent trip to the city.

My First Job

I've been hired by Colleen and Rodney Yee for my first job. Here's the deal. Every week I go to their studio, Yoga Shanti, and dress a manikin in the latest yoga styles. There you have it. My first job and it's pretty fun.

Collette Item of the Week

This week the Collette item of the week is this rare and beautiful 1980's Chanel travel bag. The value is $5,ooo but Collette is selling it for only $3,200. Not bad right? In my Parisian dreams.

Awesome Hermes Find

Our friend Jeanne designs beautiful shoes and also spends some time on Ebay. How about this Hermes ring for a find?

Guess What?

My mom stepped out of her comfort zone and gave Grace Coddington my blog card at a restaurant. Cute cats. How about a job at Vogue? Just joking.
