Lady Gaga Born This Way Video

Lady Gaga Born This Way Cover

I am a huge Lady Gaga fan. I love her insane avant garde style. Today her brand new music video was released where she appears to literally give birth to the song. It's extremely controversial and inappropriate (for my 10 year old eyes) but I loved it!

F.I.T Japanese Show

Hangry and Angry (Japanese band)

Yeah it's been there a while, but it's only there for one more month. For those of you who live in NY who haven't seen the Japanese show at F.I.T you must go. I'm a huge fan of Japanese culture and clothing. So if you're in the city and have nothing to do, go visit Hangry and Angry and see all the rest of the japanese clothing. Includes designers like Comme Des Garcon, Issey Miyaki and Yohji Yamamoto.

Red Riding Hood/Marchesa Fall 2011

Image from the upcoming film Red Riding Hood.

Marchesa fall/winter 2011.

Most of you have probably seen the commercial for the upcoming movie Red Riding Hood (which I can't wait to see!). Well, when I saw this red Marchesa coat it's all I could think about. I also happen to be reading the book which I definitely recommend. It's very dark and suspenseful. For those of you who have seen the trailer, O.M.G I love that crazy mile long cape she drags behind her while climbing that giant mountain. That's an image I definitely can't get out of my head. For those of you who haven't seen the commercial...

Top 12 NY Fashion Week Looks

Jason Wu Feather Dress
I love this, what seems to be new signature Jason Wu feather dress. Well, basically I love anything with feathers. And I love the goth lace over the head. I saw a lot of goth influence on the runway this season.

Marchesa Feather Gown
This is a amazing gown someone needs to wear it to the Oscars. In my opinion Marchesa is the best company to pick an Oscar dress from.

Marchesa Feather Dress and Leggings
I love this outfit (obviously because of the feathers). The leggings are a stunning contrast with the feathers.

Halston Hoodarf Dress
I love this dress because of the hood, although personally I think that the "hoodarf" is an awful name. I'm sure they could have come up with a better name like a "scood".
P.S I would love to have a hoodarf so if anyone sees one for a cheap price please tell me where to find it.

Altuzarra Jacket and Dress
I think the flowy feminine dress looks great with the combat inspired boots and the wool jacket. Totally unexpected.

Peter Som Fur Jacket Sweater and Dress
I love the grey skirt and sweater with the fur jacket. Very chic.

Marchesa Black Lace Blouse and Black Leather Leggings
I love this outfit. It's not exactly wearable, but it's fashionable.

Christian Sariano Skirt and Jacket
This unlike the Marchesa is totally wearable. I mean, who wouldn't want to wear this!

Jason Wu Sweater and Pants
Easy-peezy-lemon squeezy. Just sayin.

Halston Fur Vest and Trousers
Need I say more?
Helmut Lang Casual Outfit
I love Helmut Lang because of all the vertical lines and all of the amazing materials used to make the clothes. All the clothes just have this incredible effortlessness and attention to detail.

I loved NY fashion week this year even though I had to experience it from the comfort of my own home. It was still fun to look at all the chic clothes that came down the runway. Fortunately I may go see some fashion shows in September.

P.S sorry about the lines and strange colors of the words but i couldn't get anything to work.

Alexander McQueen Lobster Claw Shoe

I was looking through some old blog images and I found this picture. I love this shoe but it makes me so sad. I definitely think that Sarah Burton is doing a great job with the company but it is still very sad that Alexander McQueen is no longer there. One has to ask, what the cuss does it feel like to wear these shoes?

Hearts for Haiti!

Hearts for Haiti!

"Million Hearts for Haiti" is a project to help raise money for Haitian artisans who lost their homes in the earthquake last year. These hearts are carved from stone found very close to the center of the earthquake. They are available at Keith Reckers studio in Sag Harbor, or can be bought on line at www.tesoros.com.
(I purchased the two above).

Color Forcaster.

Viewing Pantone books with Keith.
Yellow page in Pantone book.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet Keith Recker who works with WGSN and Pantone among others. He showed me the exclusive WGSN site (which is a major trend-analysis company for the fashion world) and also let me look at the Pantone books he created. His job is to influence the choices designers make for which colors to use each season. His choices are inspired by everything from politics and nature to films and music. What an amazing job!

Collette Happy New Year!!

I wish I wore this shiney (plastic) vintage Chanel bag at the New Years ball I didn't attend.

And someone (not me, duh) should wear these Jil Sander boots, perhaps to the New Year's party I didn't attend.
Yeah, my first blog of 2011. Some of you may have noticed that I've had a bit of blogger's block lately. Well my New Year's resolution is to blog (or at least try to) twice a week. Please comment if I get lazy.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL WHO VIEW PURPLE, AND THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

P.S. Just got back from skiing and couldn't help but wonder if anybody's made skin tight ski pants. Does this exist? And if not, why not?

Bergdorf's Holiday Windows

Shhh.

All I want!

I was in the city this week and peeked behind the window covers to see the amazing windows. They've been revealed by now, so when I go to the city for the Thanksgiving Day Parade I'll be able to see them complete. For now I'll be working on my Christmas list. Happy Thanksgiving!

National No Bullying Week!

Army of one shirt designed by Johnny Weir.

This week is.... NATIONAL NO BULLYING WEEK! It's sad that shirts like this are necessary, but it's great that they exist (the shirts, not the bullies!).

You can purchase it now at t-rains. com

Lanvin for H & M

The accessories, the sunglasses, the mens shoes everything. It's all so stunning I need to get to H&M on November 20th. Who can I get to take me?! I also love the video. Odd, but fabulous. In my opinion Alber Elbaz is one of the most talented designers (don't judge a book by it's cover). The clothes he designs are so chic and amazing.

P.S For those of you who are wondering, I was a nerd for Halloween. Sorry no picture (my choice).

Happy Halloween

The most fabulous Chanel pumpkin EVER (if I do say so myself)!!!

Happy Halloween. I still haven't figured out what to be. I was thinking about being Johnny Weir, Lady GaGa, a nerd or Karl Lagerfeld, but please comment if you have any suggestions.

Lanvin Stick Pin

Lanvin stick pin

I took part in a photo shoot the other day and to show their appreciation, the producer gave me this beautiful Lanvin stick pin. It's even more stunning in real life and it's very detailed. I feel very lucky to have this beautiful pin and such generous people in my life.

Christian Dior Rasta Hat

Christian Dior Rasta hat from the 1970's.

I rented this hat from a vintage store in Bridgehampton called Out of the Closet for a photo shoot that I was asked to participate in. The store out of the closet is true vintage. It's like a big house and every room is jammed packed with designers like Gucci, Emillio Pucci, Hermes and Christian Dior. There are also all sorts of beautiful (non designer) clothes with a time line from the Victorian era all the way to the 80's. It's like a mish mash of lace fur and neon. Also Rachel Zoe has been known to pick up an item or two there.
